English cottage in Moncalieri
A family villa extension. Moncalieri (TO)

Restoration of a single family detached house in Moncalieri, near Turin, of approximately 130 sqm, with a 150 sqm private garden.

The building is located within a housing complex built for farm workers back in 1938 including twelve single family detached houses at the feet of a hill, designed by the Passanti e Perone architecture firm.
The effect is that of a typical English neighborhood consisting of single-family houses with a garden.

The restoration project aims to reallocate inner spaces creating a large living area on the ground floor (kitchen, dining room and living room) plus three rooms on the first floor. As for the external areas, a living area will be created on level 0, with a garden on the upper level, adapting to and partially modifying existing heights.

The new exterior cladding is characterized by the use of masonry plaster and white iron parapets to mark the difference with the existing red brick cladding.
